The “Streaming” column shows whether that exit supports the main local platforms; “Partial” means the local platforms load normally, but which regional catalogues you see depends on the platform's own licensing and your account region, and can change over time.

How Routes Are Organized

Routes are grouped by geography not for tidiness, but because the link structure is completely different depending on where you are going: an exit in the same region is usually one hop away, while a cross-continent connection has to pass through a relay entry point first. With that grouping in place, choosing a route becomes a simple order of operations — work out which region hosts the service you want, then pick a route inside that group. Keeping several access types in each group means the same region stays usable across different network conditions: if one route feels sluggish on your current carrier, switch to another route in the same region. No new account, no reconfiguration.

Exit cities are chosen on two principles: a stable local network with solid international peering, and coverage of the region's main streaming and everyday services. That is why a country may get only one or two cities rather than every data center we could rent. The number of routes changes with data center and carrier conditions; additions and removals sync straight to the client list, with no need to download the client again.

Route Types Explained

The difference between IEPL, relay and direct comes down to how many segments your data travels between your location and the overseas exit, and whether it crosses the public internet. Understanding that matters more than memorizing which route is “fast”, because the same route performs differently on different carriers and at different times of day.

IEPL

How It Works
An International Ethernet Private Line turns the link between the local data center and the overseas exit into a point-to-point channel. Relay

How It Works
The client connects to the nearest relay entry point, and the relay node forwards traffic on to the exit in the target region. It splits one long link into two segments, each taking a relatively good path, which is steadier than connecting straight to a distant exit.
Best For
Reaching distant regions, such as Europe or South America from Asia, and networks where quality varies a lot between carriers or regions.

Direct

How It Works
The client connects directly to the entry node in the target region: the shortest path, the fewest hops, no extra forwarding step. Because the entry node alone decides how the route performs, direct routes are usually placed in data centers with good network conditions.
Best For
Regions that already have good connectivity, or when you are physically close to the exit node. Heavy downloads and streaming also work well over direct routes.

How to read the cost differences: the three route types cost different amounts because they consume resources differently. IEPL is billed monthly by bandwidth, so its unit cost is the highest and it is only deployed in major cities. Relay adds one forwarding step and sits in the middle. Direct is the simplest structure and the cheapest, so it can cover more cities. That is why one country often has a single IEPL city but two or three direct ones.

Picking a Route by Use Case

No route is universally better — only better for a given job. Below are suggestions for five common use cases. If you are unsure, start with the first one and, if it does not feel right, switch to another route in the same group.

Everyday Browsing and Search

Pick a relay or direct route in the region closest to you. Web browsing is not latency-sensitive; what matters is a stable connection that does not drop. Nearby exits such as Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore usually feel smoother. If a particular site loads slowly, switch to another route in the same region rather than switching accounts.

Streaming and Video

Choose the region that matches the catalogue you want: US routes for US content, Tokyo or Osaka for Japan, London, Frankfurt or Amsterdam for European platforms. The Streaming column in the table shows whether an exit supports the main local platforms. Exits marked Partial still reach those platforms normally, but which licensed catalogues you see is up to the platform.

AI Tools

AI tools are sensitive to network conditions, both in the browser and over their APIs: long-lived connections get dropped easily, and region checks often fire during sign-in. Prefer IEPL and direct routes, and add the relevant AI domains to the rule-mode routing list in the client so that traffic always leaves through one exit while everything else stays direct. If you keep being asked to verify after signing in, switching to another route in the same region usually clears it up.

Gaming

Games are the most sensitive to latency and jitter, so start with the geographically closest IEPL route — Hong Kong or Tokyo if you are in Asia. Do not take a long detour just to reach a particular server region: every extra forwarding step adds round-trip time. The client supports per-process routing, so you can send game traffic down its own route and keep it clear of downloads and video.

Video calls, code repositories and shared documents are all long-connection workloads: one drop and the session has to be rebuilt, so for work, stability matters more than peak speed. Keep one IEPL route as your everyday exit and turn on auto-reconnect in the client. When you need to move between regions, use rule mode to route by domain instead of switching routes by hand — a manual switch interrupts sessions that are already running. How a Route Gets Added

Two things are checked before a new route: the link quality from the local data center to the main international peering points, and whether there is steady demand for that region. Both have to hold before the route is opened, and the access type then follows the role it will play — IEPL in the cities with the heaviest demand, relay for distant regions or networks that vary a lot, direct where connectivity is already good. Once live, the route runs internally for a while to confirm it is stable before it appears in the client list.

Retiring and Replacing Routes

When a data center changes, a carrier changes or link quality drops, the affected route is retired and a replacement is added. Retiring a route does not affect your account or plan validity: a plan you have bought keeps working until it expires, and data packs last until they are used up with no expiry date. The client pulls the latest list every time it starts, so there is no need to download the installer again.

Why Some Countries Have Only One or Two Cities

Exit cities are chosen for stable local networks and coverage of the region's main services, not to fill a map with data centers. Adding many cities in one country barely improves the experience while making the route list harder to choose from. The one thing that genuinely calls for more exits is streaming catalogues, and regional grouping already covers that.

Reading the Route List in the Client

The list expands in regional groups, and each row shows the region name, access type and whether it is currently available; select one to switch, with no client restart. Subscription details and the route list are managed separately, so changing routes never touches the subscription itself. The Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Linux clients all read the same subscription, so switching routes on one device updates the list on the others.

If a route cannot connect on your current network, the client flags it and automatically tries a backup route from the same group. There is nothing to troubleshoot by hand — let the client switch first. If an entire group fails, the problem is usually the segment between your local network and the entry point, and moving to a different access type (relay to direct, for example) usually gets around it.

This page lists the main exits in each region; the current scale is 100+ countries / 190+ routes. The full list lives in the client, grouped by region, and includes every city and access type under each country. Routes are added and removed as data center and carrier conditions change, and the client pulls the latest list on every launch — no need to download the installer again.

Is an IEPL Route Always Faster Than a Direct Route?

Not always. The advantage of IEPL is a fixed path and low jitter, which holds up better at peak hours, across carriers and over long distances. If you are already close to a direct exit, direct may well feel better. Judge by how stable a route is in practice, not by the name of its type. Try IEPL first; if you cannot tell the difference, move to direct and save IEPL for the cases that really need it.

Do I Need to Sign In Again When I Switch Routes?

No. Routes are switched inside the client, and your account, subscription and existing plan are untouched. MeyeVPN has no device limit: one account can be online on several devices at once, and switching routes on one device will not sign the others out.

Why Is an Exit Marked Partial for Streaming?

Partial means the exit reaches the local platforms normally, but which titles you can watch depends on the platform's own licensing and your account region, and can change over time. If one specific title will not play, try another route in the same region before changing accounts — most of the time it is a difference in how the exit is geolocated, not a problem with the connection itself.

Can a Route Go Offline Without Warning?

Routes are retired when data centers or carriers change, and replacements are added at the same time; the change syncs straight to the client list. Your account and plan validity are unaffected: a plan you have bought keeps working until it expires, and data packs last until they are used up with no expiry date.
